On 8^th March 2022, THSTI celebrated the International Women's Day. Ms. V.G.Bhooma, IRPS, Principal Executive Director (HR), Railway Board,Ministry of Railways was the Chief Guest. In an interactive session, she stressed on ‘Gender Equality’ and emphasized on the change needed in the society and thinking to achieve gender equality.

In his address to the gathering, Prof. Pramod Garg, Executive Director, THSTI lauded the role women have played in the growth of THSTI as scientists, researchers and administrators.

On this day, women researchers that included faculty, scientists and students were felicitated for their contributions in research for the year 2021-22. The day also saw Celebration of Indian Traditions – Glorifying Indian Weavers wherein the participants represented traditional weaves from different states of India
