National Technology Day Celebration

Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) celebrated National Technology Day on 13th May 2025 at its campus. Prof Rahul Purwar, Professor, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Bombay, and Founder, ImmunoACT, was the chief guest. He delivered a talk on “First Make in India CAR-T cell therapy: From R&D to clinic to market.” He shared the journey of developing the CAR-T therapy in India that included challenges and successes. He emphasized the importance of adaptability, scalability, and collaboration as key to success. During the event, Prof G Karthikeyan, ED, THSTI, urged young minds to sustain S&T momentum for India-centric technological advancements. A major attraction was the Phase 1 Clinical Trial awareness booth, which drew over 100 enthusiastic visitors such as students, research personnel, and others. The booth facilitated interactive discussions that included a quiz on clinical trial phases, volunteer roles, and associated benefits. These interactions promoted public understanding of clinical research and sparked widespread interest in the science behind medical innovations.
