Present Research Interest

My research goal is to investigate the molecular and genetic mechanisms of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, and drug discovery through screening of small molecules. My research focus is to find the functional role of unknown genes and find novel targets for cardiac diseases and metabolic disorder. We are also elucidating the role of human gene mutation in cardiac function and identifying genetic, biochemical, cellular and biophysical pathways that lead from mutation to disease. Overall goal is to bridge the gap between observations in the basic research laboratory and the clinical bedside. My studies will be an integral part in ‘‘translating’’ new discoveries into therapeutic initiatives.
