THSTI scientist lauded for twin achievements

Dr. Sameena Khan of DDRC has been selected as an Associate of the Indian Academy of Sciences. The associates program was initiated by the academy in 1983 to encourage talented young scientists, below the age of 35 years, who are working in India. The intent is also to induct such young people into different programmes of the academy.
Dr. Khan has also been selected for the NASI Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award in Biological Sciences for 2016. This award, conferred by the National Academy of Sciences, India, is in recognition of Dr. Khan’s promise, creativity, and excellence as a young scientist. The award will be presented to her during the valedictory function of the 86th Annual Session of the academy. Dr. Sameena Khan had previously also bagged the INSA Medal for Young Scientist Award in 2015.
